   Glenwood Clemens age 91 of Pevely, Missouri passed away Thursday April 11, 2019 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, Missouri. He was born October 8, 1927 in Herculaneum Missouri the son of the late Lillian (nee Mercer) and Stanley Clemens.
   He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Lois "Scoochie" (nee Cox) Clemens, daughters Roxanne Clemens and Rochelle Schlueter , grandchildren Richard Clemens II, Rio Clemens, Abby (Jameson Sanders) White, Nikki (CPL Christopher) Barker, Brent (Sabba) Schlueter, Kevin Schlueter: great-grandchildren Kylee Clemens, Kinsley Stines, Madden White-Schnarr, PFC Tyson Rush-Prater, U.S. Army and Isabell Barker.
   In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sons Ronald Clemens and Richard Clemens, sisters Florence (the late Frank) Tristano, Vivian (the late James Sr.) Welch, Dorthea (Clinton "Tim") Virga, Irma (the late William "Bill") Speidel, and brothers Amos Clemens and Virgil Clemens.
   Glenwood enlisted with the Merchant Marines in June of 1944 at the age of 16 and served aboard the Liberty Ship USS Charles N. McGroarty until April of 1945. In October of 1945 he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in Korea from January 1952 until November 1953 and was promoted to MSgt. He served honorably with the Marines until retiring in June of 1966 at the rank of Major.
   After his military service he went to work for Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company (PPG) working in the corporate office. He was a member of VFW post 3777 in Festus.
   Graveside Service with full military honors will be conducted 11:00 AM, Monday April 15, 2019 at Herculaneum City Cemetery in Herculaneum. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
