   Charlie Dillin ,age 71, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 at his home. He was born November 9, 1945 in Nettleton, Arkansas, the son of the late Esta Virginia (nee Cleghorn) and Leo Eugene Dillin.
   In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Kathleen S. (nee Baese) Dillin and a sister LaWanda Atwater.
   He is survived by a son Scott Dillin of Festus; daughter Christina M. (nee Dillin) Van Doren of Pevely, Missouri; brother Junior (Lou) Dillin of Caulfield, Missouri; sisters Ellen "Faye" Stahl of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Elsie (Edward) Pinnon of West Plains, Missouri; grandchildren Jerremy R. Dillin, Brendan S. Van Doren, Mykayla Y. Starks and Caitlyn S. Dillin; and 2 great-grandsons.
   He graduated from William McKinley High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Soon after, he was drafted into the United States Army and attended Officer Candidate School. Ultimately, he attained the rank of Captain, where he served as a Casualty Assistance Officer during the Vietnam War. He later graduated from Webster University and was a retired accountant and tax specialist.
   Visitation after 10:00 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 11, 2017 at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home in Pevely, Missouri. Interment with full military honors in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials in his memory are preferred to the St. Louis VAMC Fisher House.
