age 56 of Festus, Missouri was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in Jefferson County, Missouri. He was born April 21, 1958 in Connersville, Indiana the son of the late Betty (nee Baker) and Joe Lewis Hylton.
He is survived by his wife Jane (nee Fitzgerald) Hylton, a son Justin Gregory Hylton of Festus, brother John (Doris) Hylton of St. Charles, Missouri, special nieces Dr. Rebekah Jackson and Sara Jackson of Milford, Connecticut. He was a cherished son-in-law, brother-in-law, cousin, nephew, teacher and friend.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Owen Arthur Hylton and a sister Jane A. Hylton.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Festus/Crystal City, an educator currently teaching at Antonia Middle School in the Fox C-6 District, a well known musician, guitarist, singer and songwriter and had formerly taught at Seckman Middle School, Festus High School and St. Louis City Schools as well as schools in Connecticut where he lived for many years. Visitation 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, February 6, 2015 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus then from 9:00 A.M. until the time of funeral service at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 7, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Festus, officiated by Rev. Andy Blacksher, Pastor.
